We offer a variety of programs designed to strengthen and empower individuals on the journey to reach their housing goals.

Homeownership Resources

Introduction to Homeownership Class

In Person or Online

Available in person or online, this class covers topics related to purchasing a home. After finishing the class, participants will get a certificate of completion approved by HUD/MSHDA. 

Housing Counseling

In Person or Online

Participants meet with a housing counselor to discuss personal barriers to homeownership. Counselors help them come up with an action plan to increase their housing and financial stability, which includes creating a budget and looking at each individual’s credit report in detail.

Required for this program: Introduction to Homeownership Class or valid certificate.

Individual Development Account

An Individual Development Account is a matched savings account that enables qualifying families to save towards the purchase of a home.

Required for this program: Introduction to Homeownership Class or valid certificate

Community Homes Land Trust

This program allows income-restricted home buyers to purchase updated or new homes for a significantly reduced price.

Emergency Housing

Family Haven Shelter

At Family Haven, we provide 6 units of emergency housing where entire families can stay while pursuing stable housing.

Rapid Re-housing

This program supports individuals experiencing homelessness secure permanent housing with the help of a case manager. Services include housing relocation and stabilization and financial assistance toward permanent housing, such as rent application fees, security deposits, moving costs, and rental assistance.

Required for this program: Referral from Community Housing Connect or residence in the City of Wyoming

Supportive Services

Resident Engagement

We help residents move through a continuum of supports, addressing barriers to housing, education, and employment. Our mission is to ensure that every resident, regardless of socioeconomic status or race, reaches their personal goals. We do this by ensuring residents have access to basic resources and have tools and relationships that help to improve their determinants of health. These determinants include physical health, mental health, economic stability, neighborhood connectedness, safety, and access to education.

Rentals & Homeownership

We manage a variety of affordable rentals and homeownership opportunities throughout West Michigan. Individuals can view available properties or join the waiting list.

Family Self-sufficiency

We work with families to help them overcome barriers that interfere with economic independence. This includes obtaining/maintaining employment, increasing income, increasing education level, refining budgets, developing financial skills, improving credit scores, ending the need for rental assistance, and becoming a successful homeowner.
