Housing Counseling

Making Homeownership Happen

At ICCF we provide the opportunity to meet with our counselors to discuss personal barriers that may prevent individuals and families from homeownership. Our counselors help households come up with an action plan to increase their housing and financial stability, which includes creating a budget and looking at each individuals credit report in detail.

Individual Development Accounts

An Individual Development Account (IDA) is a matched savings account that enables families to save towards the purchase of a home. ICCF offers these accounts to qualified individuals. Learn more >>

Lender-referred Counseling

This program is available through referral only. One sesion is $75. To register a new participant, contact Amber at ajones@iccf.org.

For households who are unable to attend regularly scheduled classes, individual counseling sessions may be available to those who have the appropriate referral and have been pre-approved for down payment assistance or loan products requiring homeownership education. Each session lasts up to three hours. Counselors will examine details of the loan to ensure it’s the client’s best option. They’ll also review client finances, home maintenance, and various other topics to prepare clients for home ownership. A certificate of completion is given at the end of the counseling session that meets the requirements of many loan products and down payment assistance programs.
