GRAND RAPIDS, MI. – Inner City Christian Federation (ICCF) and Madison Church will hold a Renovation Kick-Off ceremony for the redevelopment of 415 Franklin on October 3at 10am on the northeast corner of Madison and Franklin. This new, mixed-use development was the former home of Grand Rapids Christian High School and the Kent County Department of Social Services. The $19 million renovation will be the new headquarters for Inner City Christian Federation and the new home of Madison Church-Ford Campus. This unique collaborative space will also provide high quality affordable housing to low-income households.

The three story mixed-use development will include:

  • 41 affordable housing units
  • One and two bedroom apartments
  • Early Childhood Education center serving 72 children birth through Preschool
  • Community space for resident activities
  • Enterprise Green Communities Certified Green Building

“This redevelopment fits Madison’s calling to follow Christ, who is restoring our lives and calls us to join Him in restoring our city as well. We believe that the impact of affordable housing, early childhood education, and an invested church will be transformative not only in the 415 Franklin building, but in our surrounding community as well,” said Pastor David Beelen, Senior Pastor of Madison Church.

These distinguished guests will share the impact and significance of this development at the Franklin Madison corridor during the ceremony. There will also be tours of the building after the program.

ICCF and Madison Church anticipate 415 Franklin SE will be complete and ready for leasing by November 2020. This project is made possible by funding from MSHDA Low Income Housing Tax Credits, SHPO State Historic Preservation Office, Julie & Kirk Cousins Foundation, Mercantile Bank Corporation, Christian Reformed Church Loan Fund, Chesapeake Community Advisors, INC., Grand Rapids Housing Commission, Consumers Credit Union, City of Grand Rapids Community Development Department, Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative, and Cinnaire Advancing Communities.
