Permanent Rental Housing

Over 20,000 people in the Grand Rapids area live in what is considered substandard housing. This means there are parents and kids who are living in unhealthy and even dangerous housing. Because many of these families are spending a disproportionate amount of their income on housing, it is often hard for them to see the top. That is why ICCF builds and renovates rental housing with an emphasis on residential management and resident dignity.

Our rental homes are places that look and feel like a home. And they look and feel like they belong in the neighborhood, too. As a result, they don't label a family as a "renter" with no sense of permanency. And they don't label a family as "poor" either.

In addition, programs are available to every rental resident to boost their self-confidence and to teach them skills toward becoming homeowners themselves. This training oftentimes gives a family the confidence and discipline to take the next step toward home ownership. This makes a difference to their family and to the community.
