Housing Choice Voucher Program

Finding affordable housing in a location that serves the needs of families can be a challenge.
Employees want to live near their work. If they have kids, they want to live in their children’s school district. They want the conveniences of stores and transportation near their home. Unfortunately, this limits where they can live and available housing may not be in a price range they can afford.

ICCF is a housing agent for MSHDA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program. This allows low-income tenants to find affordable housing in Kent County. Program participants pay a portion of the rental cost – usually 30-40% of their income, so they can live in a home they otherwise couldn’t afford.  The remaining rent costs are paid by MSHDA through this program.
